President Trump is feuding with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey ahead of his upcoming campaign rally in the city. Local officials are attempting to charge the Trump campaign $530,000 to host the rally at the Target Center, although the city charged the Obama campaign just $20,000 to hold an event at the same venue in 2009. President Trump has taken to Twitter multiple times this week to bash the mayor.

“The lightweight mayor is hurting the great police and other wonderful supporters,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “72,000 ticket requests already. Dump Frey and Omar! Make America Great Again!”

“Someone please tell the Radical Left Mayor of Minneapolis that he can’t price out Free Speech,” President Trump wrote in a later tweet. “Probably illegal! I stand strongly & proudly with the great Police Officers and Law Enforcement of Minneapolis and the Great State of Minnesota! See you Thursday Night!”

Mayor Frey has made it clear that he’s no fan of the president. Earlier this week, he called Trump’s behavior reprehensible. He went on to say that the president’s “message of hatred will never be welcome in Minneapolis.”

President Trump lost the state by less than two percent in the 2016 election. His campaign is hoping to win the state in the upcoming 2020 race. The Trump campaign is reportedly planning to hold at least one rally every two weeks for the next several months.
