The Ultimate Fighting Championship has produced a nearly 15-minute-long documentary thanking President Trump for his contribution to the organization. The documentary is titled Combatant in Chief: The Story of Donald Trump’s History in Combat Sports.

President Trump’s properties were some of the very first to host the UFC. When the mixed martial arts organization first began, most states prohibited their venues from hosting the events.

In the states that allowed UFC events, not all property owners were eager to host them. Trump, on the other hand, embraced the organization.

In a recent appearance on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, UFC President Dana White said, “President Trump has always been great to me. He’s always, he’s a big fan of the UFC.”

White and President Trump both shot interviews for the documentary sometime last year. White previously spoke to the 2016 Republican National Convention at the request of President Trump.

The UFC President joined welterweight champion Colby Convington during his visit to the White House last year. “I brought [Covington] in, and they talked, they took pictures, he signed his hat for him, and it was fun,” White said after the meeting.

Some have criticized the UFC for their decision to feature the president in such a positive light throughout the documentary. Left-leaning sports news outlet Deadspin called the documentary “bizarre Donald Trump propaganda.”
