Imagine being such an untalented hack that you express anger over the original cast and crew of a film series being allowed to create a sequel to their work. Well, that is exactly what’s happening right now with Leslie Jones. The SNL “comedian” is outraged Ghostbusters will finally be receiving a sequel after all these years, taking to Twitter to blame President Trump for the development.

Jones referred to the upcoming sequel as “redoing” Ghostbusters, due to the fact that it will not include the characters from her 2016 reboot. The level of entitlement she must feel to attack the original creators of the franchise is astonishing, essentially attempting to plagiarize their content as her own. Jones went on to call the Ghostbusters sequel somehow “insulting.”

Fans of the original two Ghostbusters films have been eagerly awaiting a sequel for nearly 30 years. Many fans were upset at the announcement of the 2016 reboot, and all hope for a true sequel to the Ghostbusters films seemed to be gone. The 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters is commonly referred to as the worst American film ever made, perceived as an extremely poor imitation of the Scary Movie franchise.

Fans weren’t the only ones upset when the 2016 reboot was announced. Sony threatened to sue the original cast of the Ghostbusters if they did not appear in the reboot for cameos, as they were contractually obligated. Even President Trump expressed disappointment at the idea of the 2016 reboot, which might explain why Jones is still holding a grudge.

Jones has expressed outrage at Ghostbusters fans countless times in the past. She has also suggested that anyone who did not enjoy the film is a misogynist, an outrageous accusation considering the film was widely panned by female audiences as well. As it turned out, Jones and the crew of the 2016 reboot faced some serious accusations of their own.

The one-dimensional characters presented throughout the 2016 reboot are a commonly cited critique of the film. This criticism was especially focused on Jones, as many have pointed out that her character in the film is essentially nothing more than a racial stereotype. The original films are noted for Ernie Hudson’s incredible performance as Winston Zeddemore, a black man who joins the Ghostbusters. Winston is the opposite of a stereotype, and is presented in the films as being the “average hard-working American” among the other three eccentric Ghostbusters.

Leslie Jones’ recent comments are an absolute embarrassment. Frankly, it is pathetic that she is continuing to attack fans of the Ghostbusters franchise simply because they did not enjoy her atrocious reboot of the series. The original Ghostbusters is a timeless classic, Ghostbusters II was quite enjoyable as well, and fans are optimistically looking forward to the upcoming sequel in 2020.
