Fellow Fox News contributors are defending Juan Williams following a Sunday evening Twitter attack from President Trump. In the tweet, the president called Williams “pathetic” and accused him of eagerly requesting a photo together in the past. Williams has denied the accusation, and several of his colleagues are coming to his defense.

“Juan Williams at [Fox News] is so pathetic, and yet when he met me in the Fox Building lobby, he couldn’t have been nicer as he asked me to take a picture of him and me for his family,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Yet he is always nasty and wrong!”

While appearing on Guy Benson’s radio program on Monday, Williams denied ever asking the president for a picture. The alleged incident took place at the Fox News building in New York City, while Trump was campaigning for president. However, Williams has a much different recollection of the encounter.

According to Williams, “The maintenance man says ‘do you want a picture?’ I’m, like, ‘okay.’ And here comes Ed Henry. That’s what happened. There’s nothing about a request for my family, and I didn’t ask for a picture for myself. This all started because the maintenance man asked… I didn’t ask for the picture!”

Benson, a fellow Fox News contributor, also defended Williams. Even if Williams had asked for the picture, Benson argued, there would have been nothing wrong with that. Williams went on in the interview to clarify that he does not view his criticisms of President Trump as personal attacks on the man.

Jebediah Bila, frequent co-host of The Five, defended Williams on Twitter Sunday evening. She called Williams one of the nicest guys she has ever worked with. Fox News contributor Brit Hume shared her opinion, also complimenting Williams on Twitter.
