Senator Bernie Sanders is recovering from an emergency heart procedure. According to a statement from Sanders’ campaign, the 2020 candidate has canceled all his upcoming appearances and events until further notice. Sanders’ fellow Democratic presidential candidates voiced support for the senator following the announcement.

Sanders was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after experiencing chest discomfort at a campaign event in Nevada. Following tests, it was discovered that Sanders was suffering from a blocked artery. The 78-year-old senator from Vermont then underwent a procedure to successfully install two stents into the artery, removing the blockage.

In response to the news, the entire 2020 Democratic presidential field took to Twitter in support of Sanders.  “Anyone who knows Bernie understands what a force he is,” Joe Biden tweeted. “We are confident that he will have a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him on the trail soon.”

“I hope to see my friend back on the campaign trail very soon,” Elizabeth Warren wrote on Twitter. “Wishing him a speedy recovery,” Kamala Harris tweeted. “If there’s one thing I know about him, he’s a fighter and I look forward to seeing him on the campaign trail soon.”

“Stay strong Bernie,” Andrew Yang wrote in response to the news. “We’re thinking of him and his family today, and I look forward to seeing him back on the campaign trail very soon,” Pete Buttigieg tweeted in support of Sanders.

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton also expressed support for Sanders. “We wish him and hope for the best,” Clinton said while appearing on The View.

Even some Republicans have taken to Twitter to express support for Sanders. “May God’s healing hand be upon him, and may he recover soon,” Republican Senator Ted Cruz wrote on Twitter.
