Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Claims World Will End in 12 Years, Minimizes Holocaust During Interview

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was recently interviewed by Ta-Nehisi Coates as part of an MLK celebration in New York City. During the interview, Ocasio-Cortez claimed the world will end in the next twelve years if the United States does not adopt a 70%+ marginal income tax rate to pay for her green energy plan. Her most outrageous comment in the interview, however, came when she decided to compare the her fight against climate change to the events of World War II.

Over 70 million people were killed as a result of World War II. Historians estimate 17 million people were murdered during the Holocaust before it could be stopped by the United States and its allies. About one third of the entire world’s Jewish population were murdered during the Holocaust.

Sadly, minimization of the Holocaust seems to be a new trend on the left. Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, a Democrat himself, has been highly critical of the Democratic Party for their tolerance of Anti-Semitism. Dershowitz has called the constant comparisons between the Trump administration and Hitler a form of Holocaust denial. He also praised the Republican Party for doing a significantly better job of addressing anti-Semitism than the Democratic Party.

As a fellow Jewish American, I could not agree more with Alan Dershowitz’s assessment of the current political landscape. There are already two well-documented anti-Semites in congress, and Ocasio-Cortez appears eager to join them. Earlier this month, Democratic leadership rewarded Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitism with an appointment to the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist political agenda is already dangerous enough, but the left’s embrace of anti-Semitism and Holocaust minimization must be addressed. It is truly horrifying to see American politicians expressing such disgusting beliefs. You don’t need to be Jewish to be outraged by this behavior. As a matter of fact, considering Jewish people make up less than 2% of the American population, we need all the help we can get defending against these vile attacks on the Jewish people.
